D & O Director Wayne Dow, Esq. is based in Connecticut although he covers the entire United States with the exception of Florida. Wayne is originally from Travelers where he was in home office claims before working as a Program Underwriter Manager. KDIS ATTENDS CAI 57TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE

The conference was held this year in Orlando, Florida and Kevin Davis, Karen Shirvanian, Wayne Dow, Grace Gomez, Ezana Asfaw and Mike Levin from KDIS Insurance attended.
Conference Highlights: Mike Levin, Chief Underwriting Officer received a standing ovation at the conference opening session which was attended by more than 1000 people. Mike is a past-president of CAI Board of Directors.

GREEN MOVEMENT AT KDIS IS SAVING TREES

KDIS has implemented a step forward in an effort to save some of the earth’s precious resources. The Umbrella department went paperless in 2007. The employees are utilizing a new document management system which scans paper and has reduced paper consumption by more than 50%! The company is not only saving paper, we are also saving more than 50% on ink usage. The D & O department will also be going paperless, plans are to be fully paperless by the Fall of 2008. There are also big changes in the lunch room! The paper cups are gone and have been replaced with ceramic mugs.

Last year, Kevin Davis Insurance Services, Inc. opened an office in Tampa, FL to service their Florida business. KDIS is very pleased with the addition of the Florida operation. The office is managed by Jacqueline Campbell, who came to KDIS after working for Travelers Executive Liability for 9 years. Jacqueline brings extensive experience in underwriting various lines of management liability including Non Profit Directors & Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, E&O Fiduciary Liability and Fidelity.

KDIS Launches new website and online application system

Kevin Davis Insurance Services, Inc (KDIS) is pleased to announce the launching of a new website and secure online application system - www.kdisonline.com. The site has a fresh new look and is designed to help our agents find information quickly and easily. The online application system allows registered agents to fill out, submit, and store applications online, including the ability to print completed PDF versions of applications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Instant premium indications are also available for qualified risks. The system currently handles KDIS' original flagship products, including D&O and Crime. In the coming weeks, the full range of KDIS applications will be made available in the system.

Electronic Policy Delivery for D&O and Crime is Now Available

We are pleased to announce that effective immediately we will begin sending our Directors and Officers and Crime policies to our agents via e-mail. This will enable agents to deliver policies more quickly and efficiently and also provide them with a permanent electronic copy. The copy of the policy as an attachment in a PDF format and will include the declarations page, policy forms and all required endorsements. Please contact your underwriter with any questions.

Three new California laws affecting Homeowner's Associations

Three new laws afffecting the rights of individual members of Homeowner's Associations are set to go into effect on January 1, 2004. These laws give California homeowners broader rights to challenge their associations. Summaries of each of the laws are given below as well as links to the full text of the bills signed by the governor.
AB104: requires associations to provide more detailed information on their finances to members upon request, including salary of community managers and how much contractors and vendors are being paid. [Full Text PDF]
AB 512: creates a process for homeowners to appeal decisions by their boards. Members of an association could vote as a group to reverse a board's ruling. [Full Text PDF]
AB 1525: makes it illegal for homeowners associations to ban residents from flying noncommercial flags, posters and banners. Most associations have rules restricting what homeowners can display on their property. [Full Text PDF]
